Pushkin’s THE QUEEN OF SPADES is rooted in a folk myth about a secret, winning combination of cards, extracted from the ghost of an ancient countess. The main character, Hermann, is impelled by an over riding obsession to violate a moral law and is doomed to lose everything he seeks to gain.

This new puppet and music adaptation of Alexander Pushkin’s, THE QUEEN OF SPADES, in collaboration with co-director and choreographer David Neumann, lighting and projection designer Manuel Lutgenhorst, and Russian composer Alexander Bakshi is being considered for future production at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, Bard's Richard B. Fischer Center and the Pushkin Festivel in Moscow '07.
